Knowledge & Research

An evolving body of knowledge for developing founders.

Founder Capability Development is not only a programme architecture. It is supported by an evolving body of frameworks, research, publications, reflections and practical tools.

Knowledge & Research brings that work together: the architecture behind the founder journey, the evidence that strengthens the discipline, and resources that help ideas travel into practice.

THE ARCHITECTURE

The Startup Framework

The Parallel Ventures Startup Framework is the original architecture behind the founder journey and the intellectual spine from which much of the wider body of work evolved. It organises venture building into seven interconnected Tracks that help founders navigate uncertainty, make better choices and move from idea to execution, growth and impact.

Parallel Ventures Startup Framework

The Framework provides a practical way to understand where a founder is in the journey, what questions matter at that stage and what capabilities need to be exercised. Its Seven Tracks now also provide the common learning spine across CCL, assessments, the Capstone, workshops and several companion publications.

Research, publications and reflections that deepen the work.

Parallel Ventures continues to build around the founder journey and Founder Capability Development through research, books and stories. Each format serves a different purpose, but together they extend the architecture beyond formal programmes and interventions.

Thought Papers & Research

Longer-form work that develops the conceptual foundations of FCD, examines institutional implications and creates space for evidence, research and emerging practice as the discipline evolves.

TOOLS FOR PRACTICE

The Idea Validator

Not every idea needs a workshop or programme. Sometimes the useful first step is simply a disciplined way to examine the opportunity, assumptions and questions behind an early idea before investing more time, energy or resources.

A practical tool for early idea exploration.

The Idea Validator helps founders and aspiring founders think more deliberately about the problem, customer, value proposition, assumptions and evidence surrounding an idea. It is designed as a starting tool, not as a substitute for deeper validation or real-world testing.

ONE EVOLVING BODY OF WORK

Architecture informs practice. Practice strengthens the knowledge.

The frameworks, programmes, research, books, stories and tools are not separate islands. They evolve through the same continuing cycle of design, application, reflection and refinement. That is how Parallel Ventures develops its work and how Founder Capability Development continues to mature as an emerging discipline.

Research

Develop concepts, evidence and new questions.

Practice

Apply the architecture through programmes, workshops and founder engagements.

Reflection

Learn from what happens and feed those insights back into the evolving body of knowledge.
